When designing Anse Chastanet, architect Nick Troubetzkoy wanted to incorporate the elements he saw around him. Lush vegetation, flowers, colorful birds, crystal blue waters, white sand. All served as inspiration for what became one of the most beautiful resorts in St. Lucia. Nature is the focus of everything at Anse Chastanet, from the location, to the decor, to the guest experience inside. For example, the open wall design of Troubetzkoy’s sister property, Jade Mountain, makes a reappearance here.
Differentiating slightly from Jade Mountain, Anse Chastanet is more family friendly and features more activities on-site. However, the aspirations of the designers remain the same. Guests of all ages are encouraged to switch off and become immersed in the 600 acre tropical playground that is Anse Chastanet Resort.
Rooms/Villas
ANSE CHASTANET offers 49 individually designed rooms, 37 of which are scattered about a lush hillside, and 12 which are nestled within a tropical garden at beach level.
Note that there are some 100 steps between beach level and mid-hillside. A shuttle service is available for less mobile guests. All rooms can accommodate up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children. The deluxe beachside rooms can accommodate 2 adults and up to 3 children.
Standard Hillside
With floors made of natural clay or tropical hardwood, a balcony, and views of the rainforest or the ocean, the leading rooms at Anse Chastanet are not to be overlooked.
Superior Hillside
These rooms are located at several hillside locations and have either two twin beds or a king size bed, with ocean or mountain views. They have an octagonal or rectangular shape and are of a larger size than their standard hillside counterparts.
Deluxe Beachside
Spacious offerings with 2 doubles or 1 king size bed with en-suite bathroom, clay tiling, wooden jalousie style shutters and a balcony or patio. They are nestled in gardens a short distance from the water’s edge. The design is open and airy to allow breezes to circulate. However, there is also air-conditioning if you prefer.
Deluxe Hillside
Grand rooms located on the tropical hillside. Some have the 4th wall missing, while others allow both the light and the air to flow through louvre-style walls. Some are open plan while others feature a partition between bedroom and living area. They all feature a king size bed, balconies, large en-suites and views of the ocean or the Pitons.
Premium Hillside
Carefully positioned to achieve the best views of the Pitons and the surrounding landscape. Some have the 4th wall missing to maximize the extraordinary view, while others feature louve-style walls to encourage airflow. There are fans, clay tiling or hardwood floors and large en-suite bathrooms.
Two-Bedroom Suites
The resort offers a few two-bedroom suites available on request, with combinations available in Standard/Superior, Deluxe and Premium Hillside.
Dining
Anse Chastanet is a culinary haven. Several restaurants serving a spectacular international menu promise more than enough variety to please every palate.
Treehouse Restaurant
Caribbean flavors and fusion dishes are served by candlelight in a luxurious treehouse. High above the resort, the views of the Caribbean Sea and the Piton mountains are this restaurant’s secret recipe.
Emerald’s
An island as bountiful as St. Lucia deserves a venue dedicated to finding creative ways to put it’s harvest on display. Emerald’s is 100% vegan, using fresh, local ingredients in an ever evolving fusion menu.
Trou Au Diable Beach Restaurant and Grill
Located directly on the beach, serving lunchtime favorites like burgers and salads, with an injection of creole. On Tuesdays, 6:30pm harkens the beginning of a weekly celebration of Caribbean cuisine.
Apsara
Available in the Trou Au Diable Restaurant, Aspara is a special Indian/Caribbean fusion menu. Intended to celebrate the shared cultural journey of St. Lucia and West India.
Jungle Grill
Located on the resort’s second beach at Anse Mamin, it has a lovely laid back feel.
Private Dining
Romantic meals can be arranged at various locations around the hotel, but the most popular by far is Anse Mamin beach. Solitude, gourmet food, the breaking of waves on soft sand, what more could you want?
Eat Them to Beat Them: Lionfish Dinners
Invasive Lionfish are one of the biggest modern threats to the biodiversity of the Caribbean islands. Thankfully, one of the best ways to deal with these pests is to eat them! Guests of Anse Chastanet can do their part by sitting down for a candle-lit, multi-course Lionfish menu paired with old world wines. With a bit of culinary adventurism, we can save the reefs one Lionfish at a time.
Bars at Anse Chastanet
The bars at the Treehouse Restaurant and the Trou Au Diable are open daily. They offer a great variety of delicious cocktails, beers, wines and spirits including single malt whiskeys, along with apertifs and post-dinner drinks.
Afternoon tea is served daily in the Treehouse Bar (The Pitit Piton) from 3:30pm – 5:30pm to coincide with a menu of afternoon snacks at both bars.
Things to Do
The resort is centered between two white, sandy beaches at the edge of a protected bay. Snorkeling, swimming, and watersports are all on offer, including:

Spa
Several spas are also available at Anse Chastanet, with the Kai en Ciel and Kai Belte facilities, as well as the private Kai Mer cottage. You may choose to have one of the extensive list of treatments and massages performed in the comfort of your room or suite, or in one of the several dedicated spa areas around the resort. Treatments are available 8:30am – 8:00pm
For Kids
Finally, Anse Chastanet does not allow children under the age of 10 years old except for the summer months of July, August and September, when children from the age of 6 years old are accepted. During these months up to 2 children can stay for free when sharing with their parents. A nightly charge will apply for children over 2.
There are no dedicated kids or teens clubs at Anse Chastanet, but those guests old enough to enjoy the includes activities are more than welcome to do so.
